My passion for performing can be dated back to when I could count my age on one hand. It was a hot and humid evening in a tiny country village in the Philippines September 1991. During a local fiesta, I was shoved forward on a towering stage, dolled up in my best dress and prompted to do something.
Unfortunately, this is not “A Star is Born-Story”. On the contrary, I started crying in front of the whole crowd and that was the end of that. But ever since, I have countless memories from childhood into adulthood of rehearsing and performing in shows and plays.
Today, I am an actress living and working in Los Angeles. I was born to a Norwegian father and Filipino mother. But if you ask me where I’m from, I’ll say Sweden because I grew up there. I speak Swedish and Norwegian fluently as well as conversational Tagalog and French.
October 2014 is when my dream to move to LA was realized. Before that, I earned a master’s degree in political science in Sweden. I also spent years working as a stewardess on some of the most exceptional super yachts in the world meeting the most interesting people. From these life experiences, I’m bringing with me a great work ethic, team spirit and joy for living.
As a foreign actress here in LA, I have been blessed with overcoming seemingly impossible challenges in the most precious ways: 1. My strong accent (thanks to nanny work, kids are great to learn from!) 2. The right to work (stumbled upon the love of my life here!). These obstacles aren’t even issues for many in this country, but for me, they have been huge milestones.
That said, I am thankful for having learned practicing patience, courage to keep going and feeling comfortable in pursuing a career I am truly in love with. That little girl is winning. And I embrace every challenge acting presents.
My ultimate dream is to one day be part of a celebrated, diverse ensemble TV show about sticking together. I love shows such as Shameless, Outlander, Moneyheist, Skam, A Handmaid’s Tale and Schitt’s Creek.
